This course offers a sound introduction into a range of practical disciplines within art and design such as ceramics, drawing and painting, photography, printmaking, sculpture and textiles. Study units include:

- Contextual references in art and design
- 2D and 3D visual communication
- Using ideas to explore, develop and produce art and design
- Building an art and design portfolio
- Working in the art and design industry
- Working with visual art and graphic design briefs
Assessment
You will be assessed on six assignments during the year. You will also receive help with Key Skills in areas including communication, IT and application of number.
A personal tutor will help with any issues you may have at college.
Entry requirements
Four GCSEs at Grade D or above.
