Homestay accommodation

studentsLiving in vetted and risk assessed homestay accommodation as part of a family will give you the ideal opportunity to learn all about British family life, and practise your English.

You will have a single room in a comfortable home with breakfast and dinner during the week. There may be other students living in the house, but they will not be of the same nationality.

It is mandatory for all students under the age of 18 to stay with a carefully selected host family. This is in line with our policies and procedures where we ensure that the student's wellbeing and safety are paramount.

We would also recommend that all students stay with a host family for the first month so that they can have extra support during the early part of their stay here.

A £50 accommodation arrangement fee will be charged to cover administration costs. Payment is made directly by you to your host family, by arrangement.

Costs

£98 per week (includes breakfast and evening meal, plus lunch on the weekend)

There is a £50 administration charge for arranging homestay accommodation.

You will need to pay a 30% retainer during the holiday period should you decide to return home or go travelling.

Renting a house or flat

studentsIf you are used to living independently, and over 18 years of age, this may be the best choice for you. You can either share a house or flat with other students and be responsible for your own cooking, cleaning and payment of bills or live on your own.

Most students in private sector accommodation live in shared houses normally comprising of a number of single bedrooms with kitchen, bathroom(s) and sometimes a sitting room. Houses let to students are almost always furnished. The standard and the type of equipment provided will vary from house to house as all furnishings are provided by the landlord.

Costs

Approximately £55 to £75 per week (in shared accommodation)

These costs do not include gas and electricity but usually include water rates. While we can help you to find rented accommodation, we have not inspected the properties and any agreement will be between you and the landlord, not the college. We will try to honour specific requests, but cannot offer any guarantees.
