Bus Passes (Full Time Students)

If you are a home student, you can purchase a bus pass at a subsidised rate:
Term time only £195
Annual pass £270

A 'term time only' bus pass costs £195 and is valid from 7th September 2010 to 31st June 2011. This pass can be used to get to and from college as well as evenings and weekends in the Swansea and Neath area on First buses.

An annual pass is valid for one year from the date of purchase and costs £270. The pass is valid for use on the whole of the First network - Carmarthen to Cardiff [excluding the shuttle service] at any time of day.

Insurance
Should you lose your bus pass and want it replaced, you would have to pay the full cost of £359 for a term time only pass or £395 for an annual pass. First are offering an insurance policy for your bus pass against loss or theft at a cost of £25 per pass.

How do I purchase a bus pass?
Simply pop into Student Services to purchase a bus pass - the costs are detailed below:
 
Insurance must be purchased at the time of purchasing the bus pass. It cannot be purchased at a later date. The £25 is paid directly to First Cymru.

Term Time Only with Insurance:

  • pay the full amount of £195 by cash or cheque at enrolment
  • pay using our instalment plan option (this will incur an additional cost of £10) * you pay £100 by cash or cheque at enrolment and provide us with a post dated cheque for 7/1/11 for £105
  • pay First Cymraeg separately £25 for insurance by cheque, cash or card

Annual Pass with Insurance [can be paid using one of the following options: ]

  • pay the full amount of £270 by cash or cheque at enrolment
  • pay using our instalment plan option (this will incur an additional cost of £10) * you pay £150 by cash or cheque at enrolment and provide us with a post dated cheque for 4/1/10 for £130
  • pay First Cymraeg separately £25 for insurance by cheque, cash or card

Term Time Only without insurance [not recommended - you can pay using the following options:]

  • pay the full amount of £195 by cash or cheque at enrolment
  • pay using our instalment plan option (this will incur an additional cost of £10) * you pay £100 by cash or cheque at enrolment and provide us with a post dated cheque for 7/1/09 for £105.

Annual Pass without Insurance [again not recommended - can be paid using one of the following options:]

  • pay the full amount of £270 by cash or cheque at enrolment 
  • pay using our instalment plan option (this will incur an additional cost of £10) * you pay £150 by cash or cheque at enrolment and provide us with a post dated cheque for 7/1/09 for £130.

Please note: The full cost of the bus pass needs to be paid, even if the student decides to withdraw from college. No refunds will be made.

Funding Support
If your family income is less than £20,000, you may be able to claim for the cost of a term time bus pass from our Financial Contingency Fund [FCF.] You can get an FCF application form by visiting the Funding Team in Student Services. Details of what proof of income we require [family income/residency] is explained on the application form.

If you are a home student and not eligible for the above, you will need to buy your subsidised bus pass from Student Services before October 31st.
