Funding for part time courses

ILA
Up to 100% funding is available with an Individual Learning Account [ILA.] An ILA is available for people who are on income related benefits or do not have a qualification at level 2 or higher.

You may be:

  • Getting a qualification for the first time
  • Returning to learning after a period being out of work or after bringing up a family
  • Making a career change or promotion and need a new qualification to get where you want to be

Learners wishing to source this funding should apply to ILA Wales direct on 0800 100 900 before enrolment. At enrolment learners should produce either an ILA Voucher or an ILA Wales Approved Funding Notification.

Not all courses are eligible for ILA Funding. Confirmation of ILA Funding cannot be given until after the start of the course. If the funding is not confirmed the learner is accountable for the cost of the course.

ILA/Genesis concessions and discounts
A Genesis grant can be used in addition to an Individual Learning Account, however you must apply for an ILA before applying for a Genesis grant. Please note that a concession cannot be used in conjunction with a Genesis grant.

ReACT
Up to 100% funding is also available through ReACT funding. If you have been made redundant you could be eligible for ReAct funding to retrain.

ALG
Up to £750 is available through the Assembly Learning Grant. This grant supports people from low-income families to access further education.
